Real fit checks,people actually ran.
53 dimension-specific results, each a real 3D verdict with the margin and the constraint that decided it, grouped by the space that got in the way.
Each result is a real fit check someone ran: a specific item measured against a specific door, hallway, staircase, elevator, vehicle, or container, then solved in 3D across every orientation, with the limiting dimension and the exact clearance margin shown. Not a yes or no guess, just the number that decided it.
How to read these
Every check returns one of three answers.
Not a yes/no lookup. Each result page shows the dimensions, the constraint that mattered, and exactly how the solver reached the verdict.
It fits
Clears with measurable margin. The result shows the exact clearance and the orientation that works.
Fits, but tight
Only with a specific tilt, removed parts, or near-zero margin. We show exactly what has to give.
Doesn't fit
No orientation clears the constraint. We name the one dimension that blocks it, so you stop guessing.
Vehicle cargo
In a vehicle
The door opening is almost always smaller than the cargo space behind it.

Before you measure
Measure the thing that actually blocks it.
Most wrong calls come from measuring the obvious number instead of the limiting one. Two short lists that change the verdict.
Measure smart
- Measure the clear opening, not the frame around it. Trim and door stops can steal an inch or more.
- Measure the diagonal too. Most tight items only go in on a tilt.
- Find the narrowest point along the whole route, not just the entry.
- Use all three dimensions. A real fit is width, depth, and height together, in 3D.
Common mistakes
- Trusting the listed product size instead of the boxed or assembled size.
- Forgetting handrails, light fixtures, and the landing turn on a staircase.
- Checking the cargo area of a vehicle but not the door opening into it.
- Calling it close enough by eye instead of confirming the clearance margin.
Questions
About these fit checks.
Are these real fit checks?
Yes. Every page here is an actual check run through the ItemFits solver, with the dimensions, the limiting constraint, and the 3D verdict preserved exactly as they were computed.
What do the green, amber, and red labels mean?
Green means it fits with measurable clearance. Amber means it only fits tight, with a specific tilt, removed parts, or near-zero margin. Red means no orientation clears the constraint. Each result names the dimension that decided it.
Can I run my own check?
Yes. Use the calculator at the top of this page: describe any item and any space in plain English and the solver returns a verified 3D verdict in seconds. It is free and needs no signup.
How accurate are the results?
The verdict is only as good as the dimensions you give it, but the geometry is exact. The solver tests every orientation in 3D and reports the real clearance margin, not a rule of thumb.
Which spaces do you cover?
Doors, hallways, stairs, elevators, vehicles, containers, rooms, and windows. If your exact item is not listed yet, the calculator can still check it.
Another way in
Don’t see your exact item?
Describe any item and any space in plain English (“Will my 84-inch sofa fit through a 32-inch front door?”) for the same verified 3D verdict.
Will it fit? Know before you buy.
