ItemFits Research

What real fit checks show about getting big things through tight spaces

ItemFits publishes aggregated findings from the fit questions people bring to it and from the geometry calculations used to answer them: what people try to move, where it has to go, how often it will not fit, and how close the fits are. Every figure carries its window, its population and a link to how it is counted.

A fit is often a close call

Of 6,155 fits with a measured clearance, 1,208 had less than 2 inches to spare. That is too close to eyeball with a tape measure.

Asking beats guessing

About the publisher

ItemFits research is published by ItemFits LLC (Tampa, Florida), which builds and runs the ItemFits fit checker. Figures are counted from the checker’s own records (search figures from Google Search Console) with read-only queries and reviewed by a person before publication. None is a survey result or a model projection. How the checker itself decides a fit: our fit methodology.
