Enter your couch dimensions and spiral staircase measurements — the app checks inner clearance, headroom, and rotation radius.
Whether it fits depends on measurements most people get wrong.
Couch length and width vs. spiral clear tread width and headroom between turns
Item: Standard 3-seat couch: 84" L × 35" W × 33" H. Loveseat: 52–60" L × 30–35" W
Space: Standard spiral staircase: 60" diameter, 22–26" clear tread width, 78–84" headroom per turn
Actual clear openings are usually 1–2″ smaller than the labeled size.
Your exact dimensions probably aren't "standard." Small measurement errors cause big problems — 1 inch can be the difference between fitting and getting stuck.
Verdicts are calculated by comparing all 6 item orientations against the space dimensions using verified building code standards. See our methodology

Standard sizes say it works — but your measurements are what matter.

Spiral staircases are the hardest moving challenge. The turning radius is tight, the treads are narrow, and long items can't make the curve. Here's what works.
Not every stair move needs professionals. But some absolutely do. Here's the line between "you can handle this" and "call the pros."
Most people measure stair width and call it done. The landing, ceiling height, and turning angle are where furniture actually gets stuck.
It depends on the spiral diameter. A standard 5-foot (60") diameter spiral staircase has only about 22–26 inches of clear tread width — too narrow for a standard 3-seat couch (84" long). A 6-foot or larger spiral may allow a loveseat (60" long) with creative angling. Most full-size couches cannot navigate spiral stairs.
The clear tread width is measured from the center pole to the outer edge, minus railing thickness. For a 60" diameter spiral, the usable tread width is typically 22–26 inches. For a 72" diameter, it's about 28–32 inches. This is much narrower than a standard straight staircase.
Options include: hoisting through a window or balcony using professional movers and rigging equipment, using an exterior staircase if available, choosing a modular or sectional sofa that can be carried in smaller pieces, or purchasing a sofa designed for tight-access delivery (some manufacturers offer this).
A standard loveseat (52–60" long × 30–35" wide) may fit up a larger spiral staircase (72"+ diameter) if tilted vertically. The loveseat width (30–35") must be less than the clear tread width. Stand it on end and rotate it continuously as you climb.
