Standard sizes say it works — but your measurements are what matter.
Not flat — a 5.5-ft bed (66") is 30" short of 8 ft. You need the tailgate down and a bed extender, or angle it diagonally. A 6.5-ft bed handles plywood with just the tailgate down.
Usable floor length: about 67", 79", and 98". The 6.5-ft is the sweet spot for most hauling — it fits a standard sofa (84") with the tailgate down. The 8-ft bed is for full sheets, lumber, or commercial loads.
