A standard daybed uses a TWIN mattress (38–39 × 75 in), so the frame is about 78–81 in long, 40–42 in deep (front to back), and 35–45 in tall at the backrest. A twin-XL daybed runs 80 in long. Trundle daybeds store a second twin mattress underneath and need ~38–40 in of front floor clearance to roll it out. The frame disassembles, so door fit is rarely the issue.

- 01Disassemble into the back panel, two arms, and rails — each flat piece clears any door and a sedan trunk; reassembly takes minutes.
- 02Keep the bolts and the metal support slats bagged and taped to the back panel so nothing is lost.
- 03Move the twin mattress (and the trundle mattress) separately — they flex through tight turns where the rigid frame cannot.
- 04If you move it assembled, tilt it so the 78 in length goes through the door diagonally, back rail leading.

- 01Your daybed's width, height, and depth at their widest points — including handles, feet, and any fixed trim. A standard daybed runs about 78" deep, but compact and oversized versions vary by several inches, so measure yours rather than trusting the label.
- 02The smallest face of the daybed and its diagonal. Many pieces only clear a tight opening when tilted, and that turns on the diagonal, not the flat width.
- 03Every opening on the route, not just the destination room — the door, the hallway and any turn, the stair width, and the elevator. "In a Room" is the check people run most for a daybed, but the tightest point on the whole path is what decides the move.
- 04The daybed's weight, especially for solid-wood pieces, so you know how many people and what equipment the move needs.

- ⚠Leaving legs, doors, drawers, or cushions on. Removing them often saves the few inches that decide the fit for a daybed.
