A fridge is 30–36" wide, rigid, and 200–350 lbs. Stairs need 34"+ clear width — and the weight is the bigger problem.
Whether it fits depends on measurements most people get wrong.
Fridge width (30–36") vs. stair clear width (28–32" after rails). Remove doors and rails as needed.
Item: Standard fridge: 30–36"W × 30–34"D × 65–70"H. Weight: 200–350 lbs.
Space: Standard stairs: 36"W (28–32" clear after rails).
Actual clear openings are usually 1–2″ smaller than the labeled size.
Your exact dimensions probably aren't "standard." Small measurement errors cause big problems — 1 inch can be the difference between fitting and getting stuck.
Verdicts are calculated by comparing all 6 item orientations against the space dimensions using verified building code standards. See our methodology

“Wish I'd used this before trying to force a fridge up the stairs.” — Lesson learned

Standard sizes say it works — but your measurements are what matter.
A standard 36"-wide fridge needs 34"+ clear width between rails. With fridge doors removed (32–34" effective), a standard 36" staircase (31" clear) may work — but it's very tight. Remove handrails for another 3–4" if needed.
Use an appliance dolly with stair-climbing treads. Strap the fridge to the dolly. One person tilts and guides from behind, one walks backward up the stairs. Third person spots. Never carry a fridge without a dolly on stairs.
