Quick answer

How big is a peloton?

A standard peloton is about 23 in wide, 59 in deep, and 53 in tall (58 × 150 × 135 cm). Check whether yours fits through your door, up the stairs, in an elevator, or in your car below.

Peloton Bike: 59 in long × 23 in wide × 53 in tall, ~135 lb — a 4 ft × 2 ft footprint. Peloton Bike+: 59 × 22 × 59 in (taller, rotating screen), ~140 lb, same footprint. Peloton Tread: 68 in long × 33 in wide × 62 in tall, ~290 lb. The bikes fit any standard door easily; the Tread’s 33 in width can be tight against a 32 in door and its 290 lb makes stairs a real job.

On moving day

Moving tips.

  1. 01Tilt a Bike or Bike+ onto its front transport wheels to roll it — never drag it on the rear stabilizer.
  2. 02Remove the tablet/screen and the weights before moving any model to protect the most expensive and loose parts.
  3. 03For the Tread, use two people and a dolly — at 290 lb and 33 in wide it is the only Peloton that challenges a standard door and stairs.
  4. 04Keep the Bike’s pedals and the Tread’s belt area clear of straps; pad the frame at strap contact points to avoid scuffing the powder coat.

Measure smart

What to measure.

Four numbers decide nearly every fit check. Get these right and the rest follows.

  1. 01Your peloton's width, height, and depth at their widest points — including handles, feet, and any fixed trim. A standard peloton runs about 59" deep, but compact and oversized versions vary by several inches, so measure yours rather than trusting the label.
  2. 02The smallest face of the peloton and its diagonal. Many appliances only clear a tight opening when tilted, and that turns on the diagonal, not the flat width.
  3. 03Every opening on the route, not just the destination room — the door, the hallway and any turn, the stair width, and the elevator. "Up Stairs" is the check people run most for a peloton, but the tightest point on the whole path is what decides the move.
  4. 04The peloton's weight and whether doors or shelves detach, so you know how many people, what dolly, and whether it clears on its side.

Don't make these

Common mistakes.

Most “it didn't fit” stories trace back to one of these oversights.

  1. ⚠Measuring the room the peloton is headed for but forgetting the doorway, hallway turn, or stair landing it has to pass through first.
  2. ⚠Ignoring the diagonal. A peloton that looks too wide for a door often clears it tilted — but only if you measured the diagonal, not the flat face.
  3. ⚠Leaving doors, shelves, or feet on. Detaching them often buys back the inch or two that decides whether the peloton fits.
  4. ⚠Assuming a published size matches your exact peloton. Apartment, compact, and oversized models differ by several inches.

Frequently asked

Questions we keep getting.

  • What are the dimensions of a Peloton Bike?

The original Peloton Bike is 59 in long, 23 in wide, and 53 in tall — a 4 ft by 2 ft footprint — and weighs about 135 lb. The Bike+ shares the 59 × footprint but is 22 in wide and 59 in tall (its larger screen rotates) and weighs about 140 lb.

    01
  • How big is the Peloton Tread compared with the bikes?

Much bigger. The Peloton Tread is 68 in long, 33 in wide, and 62 in tall, and weighs about 290 lb — more than double either bike. Its 33 in width is the one Peloton dimension that can be tight against a standard 32 in interior door.

    02
  • Will a Peloton fit through a standard door?

Both bikes fit easily — at 22–23 in wide they clear a 32 in door upright with room to spare, and can be tipped to roll on the front transport wheels. The Tread at 33 in wide is wider than a 32 in door, so you may need to remove the door from its hinges (which adds ~1.5–2 in) or use a wider 36 in entry.

    03
  • How do you move a Peloton?

The bikes tilt forward onto two built-in front wheels and roll like a hand truck — one person can reposition one on a flat floor, two for stairs. The 290 lb Tread does not have easy transport wheels and is best moved by two people with a furniture dolly and straps; it does not fold, so plan the full 68 in length through every turn.
