Enter your mattress size and truck bed measurements — the app checks bed length, width, and tailgate-down options.
Whether it fits depends on measurements most people get wrong.
Mattress length vs. truck bed length, and mattress width vs. bed width between wheel wells
Item: Twin: 38"×75". Full: 54"×75". Queen: 60"×80". King: 76"×80"
Space: Short bed: 65" L × 52" W (wheel wells). Standard bed: 78" L × 52" W. Long bed: 97" L × 52" W
Actual clear openings are usually 1–2″ smaller than the labeled size.
Your exact dimensions probably aren't "standard." Small measurement errors cause big problems — 1 inch can be the difference between fitting and getting stuck.
Verdicts are calculated by comparing all 6 item orientations against the space dimensions using verified building code standards. See our methodology

Standard sizes say it works — but your measurements are what matter.

A 6-foot truck bed handles most furniture the open-air way. Here's what fits in short, standard, and long beds — plus how to secure it safely.
A queen mattress is 60 × 80 inches. Most SUV cargo areas are shorter than 80 inches. Here's which SUVs actually work — and the tricks that make it possible.
Which moving truck size do you need? Compare 10, 15, 20, and 26-foot truck capacity, what fits in each, and how to avoid paying for space you don't need.
Multi-step guides for real-world moves
A queen mattress (60" × 80") does not fit flat in a short bed (65" long) with the tailgate up — it's 15" too long. With the tailgate down, the mattress overhangs about 15–18" which is manageable for short trips. The 60" width sits above the 52" wheel wells with slight overhang on each side.
A king mattress (76" × 80") fits in a standard bed (78") or long bed (97") with the tailgate up. In a short bed (65"), the king overhangs 15" even with the tailgate down. Width-wise, the 76" king is wider than the truck bed (64") and will overhang the sides — use side rails or a bed extender for support.
Use at least 4 ratchet straps (not bungee cords) looped through the bed tie-down hooks. Crisscross two straps over the top to prevent wind lift. Place the mattress in a waterproof mattress bag first. For highway driving, add a cargo net on top. Never rely on the mattress's weight alone — wind will lift it.
Absolutely — truck beds expose mattresses to rain, road dust, insects, and debris. A mattress bag costs $10–$20 and is essential for any distance over a few blocks. Seal the bag completely with tape. Even on a sunny day, road grime and truck bed residue will stain an unbagged mattress.
