This calculator determines if items will fit in your vehicle's cargo space. We cover car trunks, SUV cargo areas, cargo vans, and moving trucks—accounting for seat-fold configurations, diagonal loading, and door opening constraints.
Three possible answers
Every check returns one of three outcomes — with the dimensions, the constraints that mattered, and exactly which seat-fold or door-opening configuration we used to reach it.
60×80×10 in. With rear seats folded flat, cargo length 72.5″ — 7.5″ clearance for diagonal loading through liftgate.
Possible with rear seats folded and trunk pass-through. Less than 1.5″ clearance — recommend padding and a second person.
76×80×10 in. Cargo length 47.6″ even with seats down — short by 28+ inches. Consider a cargo van rental or delivery service.

Measure smart
Four numbers decide nearly every fit check. Get these right and the rest follows.
Don't make these
Most “it didn't fit” stories trace back to one of these oversights.
Frequently asked
Most queen mattresses fit in a mid-size or larger SUV with the rear seats folded flat. A twin or full mattress fits in most compact SUVs. Measure your cargo length with seats down to confirm.
01A typical sedan trunk is about 15 cubic feet. Folding the rear seats adds significant length, often enough for items up to 6 feet long depending on the model.
02If any single item exceeds 6 feet in length or won't fit through your vehicle's door opening, a cargo van is usually the better option. Standard cargo vans offer 10–12 feet of interior length.
03It's possible for items that are slightly too long, but check your local traffic laws first. Always secure the item with straps and attach a visible warning flag to anything extending beyond the vehicle.
04Measure length along the floor from the back of the front seats (with rears folded) to the tailgate. Measure width at the wheel wells, which is the narrowest point. Measure height from floor to ceiling.
